St Louis LED outdoor Christmas Spruce tree lighting

Take a look at the home behind the giant tree. Now that’s a big tree!

There’s no doubt about it – when you walk into a home that has a beautifully decorated and lit Christmas tree, you feel the magic. Your heart swells with memories of the special events from all the years past. In some past years you might have been away at college or on a Christmas vacation but likely your most special Christmas memories were made at your home sitting in front of the fire and your family Christmas tree. Is there anything better? We think you can double that magic. What about adding a second Christmas tree this year? Many of our clients are choosing to add lights to an outdoor evergreen tree on their property to make it their second Christmas tree.

What’s the best way to decorate your outdoor Christmas tree? To decorate an outdoor Christmas tree, look no further than some fabulous outdoor Christmas tree lights – no ornaments needed. There are two great choices for outdoor tree lighting – LED mini lights and C9 outdoor rated lights. Mini lights are most often white lights. They are great for wrapping tree trunks or majestic tree boughs.

LED mini lights are used to decorate this front yard tree. Now a tree that might have gone unnoticed brings the most holiday cheer!

The second type of outdoor Christmas lights are the one show in the picture of the gigantic spruce tree. Regular outdoor rated multi-color LED C9 lights bring that traditional Christmas tree look outside! If you want to go with more of a monochromatic color scheme but still use C9 lights, white lights are great or even choose a single color like red. Red lights make a great contrast to the deep rich color of your front yard evergreen tree.

Does your outdoor Christmas tree need to be in the front yard? Heck no! There are some great benefits to a front yard outdoor holiday tree. For one, you can spot it as you drive up to your home. In addition, you can spread your holiday cheer to your neighbors and passers by. A back yard outdoor tree is also a great idea. While we are used to spotting a great indoor tree from the outside, what about enjoying seeing a festive backyard tree while we sit in our own living rooms or peek out the kitchen window?

When you select Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of St Louis for your outdoor tree lighting, you don’t need to lift a finger. Not only do we do all the installation for you, we also take the lights down after the holiday season. No giant Rubbermaid boxes. Keep the ladder in the garage. Let us take care of it. We even store your lights for you until next year making it truly worry free.

St Louis C9 outdoor Christmas lights lighted wreathsA Christmas wreath is the staple of your holiday decorating. Whether for indoor our outdoor, your decorating wouldn’t be complete without it. The lore of wreath symbolism has evolved and changed slightly through time. But, it has always been the symbol of something eternal. The ring has no beginning and no end. At holiday times, wreaths have come to represent eternal cheer, eternal joy, eternal giving, and an eternity of great joy that precedes all who enter there.

Think of a holiday wreath on your front door, hanging under the gable of your house, or on your front gate as the big bow on the top of a special present: your hospitality. A wreath at the entry of your house will be one of the first things visitors will notice when they arrive. With lighted outdoor Christmas holiday wreaths by Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of St. Louis, your thoughtfully chosen decorations will stand out day or night.

Christmas is magical and you want to welcome you, your family and guests with stunning lighted wreaths and garland over this holiday season.

Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of St. Louis Commercial holiday tree lightingAny time you see a magician in a movie he always tells someone, “A magician never reveals his secrets.” Sometimes the magician will let slip that the key to a successful magic act is getting the audience to look where you want them to, not at the real work your hands are doing.  Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of St Louis works under the same principle. Decide what you want your guests and visitors to see and make those areas shine. If you have a stand of gorgeous river birches, use uplighting to show them standing tall and majestic in the night. Leave the nook where you keep the trashcans in the dark. Light the areas where guests enter your yard and your home.

C9 Holiday outdoor lights by Outdoor Lighting Perspectives

These elegant and quaint holiday lights become the star of the show.

Your holiday lights can direct not only your guests’ eyes, but their actions as well. If you have multiple entrances to your home, you can signal that you want them to walk or park in certain areas by guiding them with strategically placed lighting. You can also build the anticipation for a festive holiday party by starting your lighting at the street and continually lighting the path to the house. It’s a very subtle but effective technique.

The most magical effect of holiday lighting is that it makes your home the place people want to gather. When family is arriving after the car trip that lasted 2 hours too long, the sight of your home welcoming them with the promise of a gracious welcome and holiday cheer is going to fill them with excitement (and

relief!). Guests will know which home is  yours because it is the only one on the block with the 6-foot tall twinkling wreath hung at the roof peak (or whatever signature decoration you’ve chosen). They will easily identify it with you and know that the best party of the season is about to start!

If you are going to have outdoor lighting at your home this season, the time to make that decision is now. At Outdoor Lighting Perspectives, we install your lights for you. So, your holiday planning is as easy as giving us a ring and selecting the outdoor holiday lighting of your dreams. We literally take care of the rest. As you can imagine, the most popular day to have your lights turned on is Black Friday. For our customers, we install their lights earlier in November so all they have to do is flip the switch. If you want to turn your holiday lights on right after Thanksgiving, you will want to call now so we can schedule and complete your install in time. Time slots for early installations are already going.

We can’t wait to hear from you!

You knew it would come. It did. Your teenagers are going out at night. Whether they’re going out with friends for ice cream or heading out on a date to see the newest movie, you will spend most of the time worrying. Will they get there safely? Will they get home safely? One thing you may not have thought of is how outdoor lighting plays an important role on their safety from driveway to door.

St Louis driveway lightingThe driveway

During the day, the idea of teenage drivers backing out your driveway may cause concerns about the well being of your driveway landscaping. Those concerns will be different with night driving and other nighttime travel. Perhaps your driveway is short and straight. Or, maybe it’s long and winding or even near a hill or drop off. You want your teen drivers to have no problem safely navigating the driveway. What if they’re picked up by friends who let them out at the top of the driveway? In that case, you want to make sure the driveway is well illuminated for sure footing but also to provide your child with a safe feeling by having ample lighting in that area.

The exterior lights

With your general exterior lighting, it’s important to think about two things. First, you’ll want to think about how your children and guests will find their way around the home’s exterior at night. Do you use the garage entrance or perhaps a back entrance? In that case, it’s important to light that area as well. The last thing you want is to have your child fumbling with keys trying to get in and not be Outdoor lighting with curb appealable to successfully navigate that task because the entrance lighting is not adequate. St Louis exterior lighting is also important for security reasons. Hopefully this is never a concern. But, if an intruder is roaming around on your property, you want to make sure that there are no dark areas where your children and guests will move around at night. Intruders will gravitate to dark areas where they can’t be seen.

The doorway

At the threshold is the third most important part of safety and security outdoor lighting. This can serve two benefits. First, anyone coming and going will be able to safely enter and leave through that door. But, there may be an unsuspected benefit of doorway lighting. Perhaps your daughter has just been walked to the door by her date. You are waiting for the door to open so you can hear all about it. As minutes go by and the door doesn’t open, you can peek outside and have a well lit area to make sure it’s just an innocent sweet goodbye:)

patio lighting

LED patio and deck outdoor lighting allows for endless conversation and no time constraints on good times.

There are lots of great ways to watch a Cardinals ball game and none like being at Busch Stadium under the lights.

There are a couple other really good ways to watch a Cardinals game including over a friend’s house or out at a favorite sports pub. As another option, wouldn’t you love your house to be the go-to spot where all your buddies love to come hang out on game night? So what makes one person’s home the one that everyone gravitates toward on game night? Here are a couple top factors:

  1. lots of room for lots of friends
  2. a place where nobody will be upset if you’re loud
  3. a place that’s just as much fun for hanging out after the game as during the game

First, if your house is going to be the go-to place where all your buddies want to hang out, you better have a great big space. The last thing you want to have to do is to start pulling out folding chairs when your buddies bring along a couple friends. So, having room to expand when your guest list expands is a must.

Secondly, and very importantly – you do not want anyone fussing if you’re yelling at the ref or celebrating a great play. If you have to worry about telling your friends to keep it down, what’s the point? Hanging out watching the Cardinals is a party and a good sports party shouldn’t have to contain the excitement!

Deck lighting

How we do deck lighting. Cohesive, and elegant with all components out of sight and out of mind.

Third, you want to make sure that the party doesn’t end with the game. The only thing better than a great party is a great after party. That’s when you need even more room to spread out.

Imagine having an outdoor man cave – let’s say it’s a covered outdoor patio with a mounted outdoor TV. Wouldn’t that be the ultimate place to watch the game? Outdoor living spaces are becoming more and more popular here in St. Louis. Some of them include outdoor fireplaces, outdoor TV’s and lots more. But they all have one thing in common – you need outdoor lighting to enjoy them after the sun goes down. How many people have a room in their house that meets all the requirements above? An outdoor space lets you expand as much as you want to.

At Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of St. Louis, we install lighting at all sorts of outdoor living spaces from large patios to small decks and everything in between. The important part is making sure the party doesn’t end when the sun goes down. With outdoor lighting, the party can really get started being outdoors with great lighting watching the game or having the after game party in your own backyard.

Here at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of St. Louis we pride ourselves in thinking “outside the box” when it comes to new and unique outdoor lighting designs. Aside from the traditional outdoor lighting installations we are widely known for, we also have many clients that are looking for something a little more avant-garde to add to their home and landscape. Festival lighting, also known as fiesta lighting, is the answer.

Festival lighting is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after outdoor lighting genres in residential and commercial outdoor lighting. Festival lighting originated as a way to light outdoor areas in honor of outdoor celebrations such as street festivals and fairs. These venues were often draped in lights for an evening, or two, to celebrate a significant local event and then removed at festival’s end. Permanent festival lighting allows you to indulge in the same magic every night. We have  completed many permanent festival lighting installations in and around the St. Louis area for both residential and commercial settings for many happy customers. Business owners and homeowners alike are requesting this unique lighting for their backyards, outdoor living spaces and commercial storefronts.

As a general rule of thumb,  festival lighting falls into two categories, orb or pendant lighting and festoon (fiesta) lighting. Each genre of permanent festival lighting has its own distinct beauty and style.  We offer our customers the choice of either LED or incandescent permanent festival lighting, which is also available in white (clear), and multiple colors. The bulbs can easily be changed out to honor a special occasion or as a way to change the mood of the area you are illuminating.

    Festoon Lighting

The addition of festoon lighting can serve well in lighting an overlooked area in your landscape. It can also be used transform a dark courtyard or patio at your business into a most-requested location! This unique lighting technique works well in covered patios, porches, outdoor living structures or draped in a designated spot in your landscape.

Permanent festival lighting added to this majestic tree makes the perfect spot to mingle under in the evening.

Orb lighting added to this majestic tree makes the perfect spot to mingle under in the evening.

We use multiple strands of low-voltage LED or incandescent festoon lights and string them over the span of the area we are illuminating. We use cable to support the weight of the electrical wiring when we install permanent festival lighting over an area with a large span; this ensures the safety and the integrity of the system. We always use commercial-grade lighting products and professional installation.

  • Orb Lighting

Orb lighting, also known as pendant lighting, is based on the same principles as fiesta lighting, the only difference is the use of “orbs” give the appearance that the lighting is “free-floating”. Orb lighting  comes in 10″, 12″ and 16″ and are available in white, colored as well as clear acrylic. These lights are contemporary in design and work well in  both rural and urban themed settings.
